The first half of my life, I seldom stopped moving thanks to being an Army Brat and marrying a Marine: Born in Cheyenne, WY; quickly followed by Winter Park, FL; Ft. Leavenworth, KS; Carmel, CA; Washington, D.C.; Paris, France; Washington, D.C.; Ft. Monroe and boarding school in Tappahanock, VA; Palo Alto, CA; Laramie, WY; San Jose, CA; Laramie, WY; La Jolla, Del Mar, Oceanside, and San Clemente, CA; Denver, CO; Parris Island, SC; Troy, NY; Beverly (near Philadelphia), NJ; Los Altos, CA; Okinawa, R.I.;Annapolis, MD; Barstow, CA; Quantico, VA; Rancho Bernardo, Poway, Scripps Ranch, Encinitas, and finally Del Sur (San Diego), CA. If only I’d learned to pay my bills, maybe I wouldn’t have had to move so much.
I’ve had jobs in college fundraising, magazine and newspaper publishing, banking, and financial services, in addition to a short career as a folk singer.
I have two incredible daughters, two terrific sons-in-law, and two grandchildren—one each—who are the loves of my life. I also have a rescued boxer/mastiff mix who is a character.
I work out and walk nearly every day and am determined to reach age 120, if only to torment my children and grandchildren.
